Fresh news of any kind regarding Blizzard Games is more than accepted, it’s devoured with gusto and ravened upon by hungry fans. So if you’re one of those hard core fans, you’ll be happy to know that Blizzard recently announced during it’s BlizzCon 2010 show the release of official mods for StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty.
There are four new mods for StarCraft II: Wings of Liberty:
Auir Chef (as in “high-class cook”, a play on “Iron Chef”) – Takes place on Aiur. Up-and-coming Zealot Chefs cook and kill for the all glorious title of Executor Chef.

Left 2 Die – almost like the original Left 4 Dead, you and a buddy take on a Zerg infestation based on “Outbreak”, the sixth Campaign mission for Starcraft II.

StarJeweled –Bejeweled adaptation (you know, the same one Blizzard also inserted in WOW). Instead of mining and gathering, you match jewels according to color to gain energy, train troops and in turn, crush your enemy’s base.

Blizzard DotA – Keeping up with a Blizzard tradition, Defense of the Ancients has been modded for a StarCraft II gameplay. Similar to WarCraft 3: Defense of the Ancients, you have the most awesome heroes in the StarCraft, Warcraft and Diablo universes that you can play in a multiplayer scenario.

All of these mods were playable at BlizzCon, but if you haven’t been there, these will be unleashed to the StarCraft 2 players via Battle.net in the coming months for FREE.
