Capcom and Namco have been preparing for its upcoming crossover fighting game called Street Fighter X Tekken. However, a recent controversy regarding the participation of the game in the forthcoming Captivate 2011 caught the attention of the gaming community. Particularly Capcom.

In a recent report by CVG, it mentioned that Capcom had confirmed, via its Producer Yoshi Ono, the inclusion of the game on the Captivate 2011 expo.
We’re doing our best to keep up our spirits! We’re busy preparing for CAPTIVATE 2011 as CAPCOM private event
But apparently, the statement was false and wrongly interpreted. Capcom cleared the air surrounding this controversy with a statement published at VG247. The game developer clarified that they haven’t announced any games for the upcoming Captivate event nor confirmed the presence of any particular game.
Street Fighter X Tekken was previously introduced last July during the San Diego Comic-Con show. The game will feature key characters from both games and can be played on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 consoles. Capcom will be the lead developer of the game so expect its gameplay to have elements taken from Street Fighter like Ryu’s Hadoken.

Since the last Comic-con, we’ve only witnessed a few characters for the game like Ryu, Kazuya Mishima, Chun-Li and Nina Williams. It is also expected that characters can perform tag team super combos similar to Street Fighter EX3.
Stay tuned for its release details.
