In this video, a 14 year old kid claimed to have found a way – which other game developers thought was impossible – to emulate the Nintendo 64 (N64) console in an iPhone. 3G4, the Nintendo 64 emulator developed by NWorksDev that works in your iPhone 3GS or iPod touch 3G even professed it could run Super Mario 64 video game smoothly!
No technical details were given by the “boy wonder” about the 3G4 emulator other than some video demos coupled with texts that the emulator run perfectly on an iPhone.
It appears to be legit and runs incredibly smooth. The controller layout looks great and saves screen real estate. However, there are no L, R, or Z buttons at the moment
The N64 emulator would probably be released by April 2010 said the unidentified developer. If all these claims were true, then this will be the First native Nintendo 64 emulator for the iPhone 3GS and iTouch 3G. A similar developer ZodTTD, was reported to have been working on the same project – a N64 emulator for iPhone. However, we have yet to hear any news or updates from the group.
We’ll leave you with the First Beta Video of 3G4 running Super Mario 64. It looks awesome and to think that it was a teen who made this possible. But until we laid our eyes upon this baby, everything we see here are speculations and rumors.
