We’ve been hearing a lot of new releases of mobile operating systems recently, but here’s a fresh scoop: a Symbian update. Yes, for a while, let’s cut back on smartphones and go back to where it all started.
Before Nokia sheds light to its users on a technological overhaul in becoming a Windows phone to keep up with the hype, they’ve managed to make do with what they currently have. That’s updating Symbian. Nokia is planning on giving their current OS a major UI revamp by fall of this year, with promising new features.
There would be a pull-down status bar at the top, coupled with a navigation bar at the bottom made simpler. The new interface pretty much works like those of Androids’. It will also have new flexible widgets, wherein these won’t be stuck in a constant pattern anymore. You can organize and manage the widgets as you wish. The new Symbian OS also comes with a new iconography and user friendly and easy on the eyes menus.
The releases of these new updates are set from summer until fall. So much for teasing, eh? The first release would just be a minor update for particular mobile phones such as the N8 and E7. As for the latter, it would hit by fall and it boasts of a greater new UI.
