T-Mobile has already officially announced that it will be coming out with the G2 and already confirmed that it will be its first HSPA+ handset. The T-Mobile G2 is the successor of the T-Mobile G1 which captured the attention of many developers as well as consumers when it was launched 2 years ago.
As mentioned, the T-Mobile G2 is expected to be integrated with Google and deliver its consumers the best Google Services and applications. This smartphone is also especially designed with the HSPA+ network which deliver today’s 4G speeds.
As rumored before, the T-Mobile G2 will run with the Android 2.2 operating system and will feature a 3.7 inch WVGA display. There were also recent leaks that have revealed that the display will be AMOLED just like the Nexus One. However, there were some reported shortages on this component that is why it will not be surprising if the G2 will actually feature the Sony SLCD.
Previously, the G2 was rumored to feature a 1GHZ Qualcomm MSM7230 processor, but recent rumors revealed that it will be powered by the 1GHz Snapdragon processor. T-Mobile promises more details in the coming weeks so let’s just wait and see which processor will be the final one.
Aside from these, the T-Mobile G2 is also expected to come out with the following specs and features:
- 5 megapixel camera with autofocus feature and LED Flash
- Slide-out four-row QWERTY keyboard
- Support for HSPA+ 14.4 Mbps
- Bluetooth 2.1
- Wi-Fi 802.11b/g/n
- 3.5 mm headset jack
Based on these specs and features mentioned above, it seems that we are looking forward to a pretty impressive phone in the future. So if you are looking for a smartphone with super fast data speeds, you may consider having the T-Mobile G2 on top of your list.
As of this time, no price has been revealed about this smartphone yet. But there were some sites that mentioned that T-Mobile will offer it at around $199 with a 2-year contract. Also, T-Mobile has yet to mention if they will come out with new data plans for the premium experience of HSPA+ and data speeds that this smartphone will feature.
