Now here’s a quick-update for the Tesla Model S car that jolted everyone for this year’s CES. You see, it’s now officially revealed by Tesla Motors to go mainstream with a starting price of 57,400 USD, that is, if you are planning to get its Base Model S that can travel up to 160 miles of range all on its electric motor. Plus, you need to pay for an extra 7, 500 USD fee for federal tax credit. Then again if you are feeling like a hot-shot, you can get its 230-mile version throwing you another 10,000 USD worth-of premium fee.

Meanwhile, there’ll be a Tesla Model S 300 a.k.a Model S Signature Series fitted for the rich citizens of USA, tagged at 77, 400 USD. This is a limited edition with a count of 1000 units in production only – for now.
If you are interested, you can get the Tesla Model S 160 / 230 versions on their release date this year whereas the Model S 300 would arrive later in the summer of next year. Interestingly, Tesla is planning to manufacture even more of these units and their plan is to reach 20k Tesla cars by the end of 2013! Its going to become an electric city after-all huh?
