The Last of Us: Young Girl Based From Ellen Page? (VGA 2011 Trailer)

Posted on 11 December 2011 by author

We’ve been eagerly anticipating VGA 2011 today not only because of the list of new titles going to be introduced next year (and beyond that) but also, to find out more details about Playstation 3’s new exclusive title called “The Last Of Us” which was first leaked last week now confirmed to be Naughty Dog’s brand-new IP.

As expected, the gaming awards only left us some little hints about the upcoming “bacteria-infested” game, along with this trailer and Ellen Page. Wait, what? Yes, you heard us correct.

Check it out

First clue: If you’ll turn your volume to a higher notch, you can hear the brawler guy screaming at 1:30 mark “[Ellie] C’mon” when more infected zombies are about to arrive, which is more likely based with the name of the 24-year old actress Ellen Page.

Second Clue: Beginning at 1:10-1:14 mark, you can see this body movement from the girl. I know this may sound like a long-shot but if you’ve been watching some of Ellen’s popular films like Juno on 2007 and Inception last year, you can instantly connect that “boyish” move with the computer-generated character on TLO.

Check out this video from Inception as a reference: Watch her body movements at 0:07-0:13 & 0:40-0:45; then watch the last of us’ new trailer again.

And oh, some pictures of her wearing a red dress from Juno and Inception

Of course, this is just a speculation but just in case Naughty Dog confirmed this theory, you wouldn’t be surprised anymore.

For the record, since you’re wondering. It’s officially her. PS3 noted it in their article about the new game.

“It’s confirmed, folks. Naughty Dog is developing the PS3-exclusive, Dead Island, starring Ellen Page.”

I think the two dead non-debatable give aways were her lips and walk which are too distinctly ellen.

Eh, well there’s a video on the webs that shows behind the scenes making of the game. They used those cool Tron suit things to capture motion and it’s not Ellen as the “actor”, so sorry to disappoint you. BUT! I agree, I totally thought it looked just like her from an instant.

Here’s a quote from the NeoSeeker blog about the making of:
["...Introducing the character of Joel, played by Troy Baker, and Ellie, played by Ashley Johnson..."]

So, it’s not the voice or movement of Ellen Page. Would have been really cool if it really was, though.. I didn’t think it sounded all that much like her anyways, but she sure looks like her.

I agree with the creator of this article. Ellie is seriously twinning with Ellen Page. They have the same look, movements, and the same kind of speech pattern. Plus Ellen Page is amazing so why wouldnt you want it to be her?
