If you are a bonafide kid of the early eighties and you happened to live on the western part of the world, perhaps you have encountered one of these blue-character trolls floating on your tv-screen while playing with your 1995 nintendo ‘family computer’ — more popularly known as “smurfs”.
Yep, I am talking about Papa Smurf here and the rest of his gang!
Well what do you know? It appears Ubisoft announced earlier today that it will partner with Columbia pictures to release this hit video-game of the yestergeneration, and it will be in full 3D along with pure CG animation.
Expect “The Smurfs” movie to be release this summer and their float will be flaunted on NY’s Central Park. While it’s not being disclosed if Azrael will be put into play, we expect that he will join the pack to make the movie even more interesting.
As for the news of any Smurf video-game remake, it appears the upcoming movie will have an equal video-game launch on August 3 and this 2011 Smurfs video-game will be available on Nintendo DS and Wii – hopefully, it will also land on 3DS in the future.
Nintendo 3DS is the first 3D video-game handheld device created by Nintendo and it will be reveal this February on Japan and March on a global scale.
