Everybody knows this laptop brand as heavy on the budget gadget and most probably people who earns higher than your average Joe (think VP’s and CEO’s) gets the opportunity to rock this baby on their arms while you steam up with envy (too bad). But now I am happy to announce that you can stop envying those top notch dudes because you can have your very own ThinkPad! Okay let me just clear things out, this is not a game show wherein we will give you a free gizmo alright?! I am saying this because Lenovo has made their sweet candy affordable this time around. You would usually see Lenovo’s line of gadgets with a price tag between $899 – $13,500 (or the over expensive $2 million Lenovo), but I guess their New Year’s resolution is to make their laptops affordable.
Lenovo has just released a ThinkPad that has an unbelievable price tag of $549 (hey this is really cheap compared to the eye popping prices other Lenovo laptops have). So what’s the catch? I’m really hoping that there’s none, $549 is still expensive for an average dude. I’m thinking what made this gadget cheaper than its siblings (Hmmmm??) Let’s check what happened to ThinkPad Edge 13 and maybe we can conclude what made it affordable. Below are pictures of the affordable ThinkPad Vs. its expensive brothers that’s worth $900 above.
As you can see ThinkPad edge 13 is thinner, smaller and instead of that matte finish Lenovo laptops are sporting the new kid has a glossy finish (for awhile it made me think it was Asus). The pictures below really proves that Lenovo has broken their tradition, since ThinkPad edge 13 has a whole new look and style , it now flaunts a chiclet keyboard.
Other than the physical attributes that has undergone renovation, ThinkPad Edge 13 was injected with the following specifications:
- 13.3 inch screen
- 1366×768 resolution
- Dim lighted built-in webcam (not good news)
- This ThinkPad will be available in two specification the $549 will have
- AMD processor
- 2GB of RAM
- 160GB hard drive
- A 3-cell battery (that will last for approximately more than 5hrs)
- The $899 will be infused with
- Intel Core 2 Duo at 1.3GHz
- SU7300 CPU
- 4GB of RAM
- 320GB hard drive
- Windows 7 Professional
So it’s up to you which one will be your pick, I guess it doesn’t really matter which spec you choose it’s still Lenovo!
