A DVR comes in really handy when we need to record our favorite show or series if we happen to miss a single episode or a season perhaps of it (If you’d ask us, we’d love to record Lost Season 6. Okay, enough with the Lost addiction).

The good news is that TiVo will be releasing its Premiere Elite DVR which is touted to be the retail version of the Premiere Q. The Premiere Elite has four (4) tuners in it which simply means that user can watch and/or record from four channels all at the same time (DVRs are efficient multitaskers!) Word is out that this new DVR has a recording capacity of two (2) Terabytes which literally translates to 300 hours of high-definition digital content (now that’s a lot of HD clips to watch!).
A bit of downside though can be seen from the Premiere Elite as it is only limited to digital broadcasts and has no support for over-the-air (OTA) broadcasts. It also has support for Multimedia over Coax Alliance (MoCA) which should be handy for networking with your devices that also have the MoCA functionality.
TiVo hasn’t released details yet on the price and availability. Those who are in the loop however foresee that price may be from $600 to $800 with availability probably by Fall.
