Toshiba 13inch Laptop: World’s Lightest? | Specs Review

Posted on 11 May 2010 by pinoytutorial

In the past years, Toshiba has been known for being one of the few companies who deliver what they say they would. They’re the best in making very durable and very sleek and stylish ultraportable laptops. Now, there has been news leaking around that this company is trying to set out and set the bar for making the lightest 13inch laptop in the world. Okay, read it properly, the world’s lightest 13inch laptop.

Toshiba has released this newest thirteen inch laptop which only weighs less than a kilogram! This laptop sports a 16:9 aspect ratio, a USB 3.0 dock, and a standard voltage CPU. The processor is available in i3, i5 or i7 Intel core with 4GB memory. It also has a 500GB hard disk and an optional 512GB SSD.

This sleek and slim laptop from Toshiba features a 2nd SCiB or a Super Charged ion Battery. Sources say that this can be charged 90% of the way for 10minutes. If this is officially true, this new laptop would become a grave new threat to the others that are available on the market. This ion battery used to be just prototypes from 2008.

Another feature that Toshiba has included in this model is the “honeycomb rib structure”. They have also mentioned a “Blaze Mountain” cooling. I have no idea what that is, but it probably is another thing about this laptop to be thankful about. Though the honeycomb rib structure may indicate something about the laptop’s appearance. There have been rumors that this laptop has made several numbers of people ogle at it, ever forgetting that they had their sights set on the MacBook Air Fresh.

Yes! Finally, there’s a laptop that could be conveniently carried around without having to worry about breaking your back. Can you imagine casually carrying a 13inch laptop as if it only weighs like paper? Well, not exactly as light, but you get what I mean. Toshiba has definitely outdone itself this time. Durable, easy to carry around and ultra slim, what more could you ever want from a laptop? Eat your heart out. This will be a contender to watch out for.
