The Toshiba Computer Systems had recently announced a new model of laptop tagged as Dynabook TX/98MBL while it will be called Toshiba Satellite A664 in Europe . The new Satellite A665 is the first ever laptop that can play back 3D content in Blu-ray format. It has an integrated WinDVD BD software for it to play Blu-ray 3D contents and aided with NVIDIA’s 3D Vision software and GeForce GTS 350M hardware with 1GB of dedicated video memory. The new laptop promises a true quality 3D experience with its exciting 3D environment for gamers. It is equipped with a pair of 3D Vision active shutter glasses that lightens and darkens in the same 120Hz refresh rate of the LCD display. The resulting 3D images will be similar to visual effects you see at Imax. Completing the gaming experience is the included Harman/kardon 5.1 channel stereo speakers with Dolby Advanced Audio that will surely make the most out of 3D gaming.
Toshiba Satellite A664 includes an Intel Quad Core i7-740QM processor, 4GB DDR3 RAM (expandable up to 8 GB), 2.5” HDD capable up to 750 GB with HDD 3D impact sensor, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, WLAN, Gigabit Ethernet LAN, 3 ports for USB 2.0, integrated 1.3 Megapixel webcam with face recognition, Analog and DVB-Thybrid TV Tuner, Toshiba Resolution, Toshiba Media Controller, Toshiba LifeSpace, Toshiba PC Health Monitor and integrated Windows 7 Home Premium. It is also bundled with NVIDIA 3D Vision and features high-performance NVIDIA 3D graphics processing unit.
Not only did the Toshiba Satellite A664 has a striking inside but also has an interesting look. It features a 15.6” TruBrite HD display with LED backlighting and 1,366 x 768 pixels of resolution. It has a Metallic Precious Black look with silver chrome accents on the LCD cover and inside. To contrast its metallic look is a textured pattern making fingerprints less visible.
The laptop will come in two versions, one with 3D capability and the other being not. Both models will be made available during the third quarter of 2010 throughout Europe and the Middle East.
