Last February 15, 2010 Toshiba debuted its new mobile phones during the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. This mobile phone offers a powerful, stylish design and it is optimized for mobile messaging. The K01 has a single core Qualcomm QSD 8250 1Mhz processor and runs with an embedded Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5.3 Professional.
The K01 has a touchscreen OLED capacitive 4.1 inch wide-screen that provides brighter color, power efficiency and a faster response. It has a super-slim design and measures 12.9 mm front to back which makes it really portable and easy to carry. The K01’s QWERTY is a slide-out keyboard with 39 keys that will provide the user the experience of ease and comfort while typing. This phone uses microSD cards and has a capacity of 32Gb allowing the users to store their favorite pictures, movies and games.
Toshiba K01 phone also offers a stereo sound and a loudspeaker for users to enjoy quality sound. Although it has a slide-out keyboard, this device doesn’t have any directional pad and scroll wheel. It supports high-speed USB 2.0 client up to 480Mb/s and uses USB series Micro-B connector to connect to any PC. It also has a two en suite digital camera but it does not have a flash but the camcorder only has a resolution of 320×240 pixels. The camera at the back is a 3.15MP with 2048×1536 resolution and autofocus while the secondary camera is only 0.31MP with 640×480 resolution.
The K01 supports 3GP, MPEG4, MJPG, JPG, BMP, AAC, MP3, AAC+, AMR-NB, AMR-WB and WAV Polyphonic 64 tones format. Other features include Bluetooth 2.0 plus enhanced data rate, Wireless LAN/Wi-Fi 802.11, Toshiba touch UI, GPS, built-in accelerometer and uses a Lithium-ion battery.
This Toshiba dynapocket is speculated to be out and available for public use by March of 2010 with a price that is yet to be known.
