Well look, It appears Toshiba has managed to done it again! And while this new hard-disk release is like a unsung hero for the blogosphere, it does deserve a proper introduction just because this one is the industry’s first in its class. So let’s rock on the clock now and see its specs!
So the Japanese based company is revealing these 1.8-inch HDD series of SATA storage devices and it will be entitled as MKxx39GSL supporting up to three type of models: MK1639GSL (160GB), MK2039GSL (200 GB) and MK2239GSL (220GB) and these will all pass the rigorous production capabilities of Tosh like on its 2.5-inch series of HDDs.
In addition to this, the MKXX39GSL will feature out a 16MB type of buffer improvement performance with 1,500GS of non-operational shock and 600GS of operational shock with 14dB operating at idle time / 15dB seek time. Interestingly, this one will only be using 0.35 watts which conserves the efficiency of the entire unit.
If you are interested, you can get these 1.8-inch hard disk drives on Q3 of this year as well with its price being concealed today.
Just for history’s sake, Toshiba was also the company to first created the 7-mm thick type of HDD on the market last year, and this new innovation on its technology proves that the company have what it takes to compete with other large storage manufacturers like Seagate / Western Digital.
