Remember the Toshiba NB550D netbook we reported before the eve of new year last year? Well, it turns out that Tosh managed to revamp this model by infusing the latest AMD Ontario type of processor and while we are happy for this accomplishment especially for the green team, it appears the company had a change of heart and decided not to release this on the US of A.
While the motives are still unclear, some pundits claim the reason is, Tosh wants the Americans to just fondle with its NB520 / NB500 netbooks which is a notch down compared to the NB550D if we’re talking about its specifications. Anyway, you can have other alternatives such as the Dell Latitude 2120 netbook or the fleet of Acer Eee PCs dangling from the corner.
Anyway, just make sure the netbook you would be picking next would be at par with the Toshiba NB550D’s specs like a 10.1-inch LED screen, 1GHz AMD C50 dual core processor and AMD Radeon HD 6250M w/ RAM size of 1GB DDR3. In addition to that, it will have some nice set of Harman Kardon booster speakers and 250GB HDD. And this makes me want to say, oh Toshiba, why do you need to keep the good ones out from USA again?
