In case you missed the laptop world for the past couple of months, you should know the birth of ultraportable notebooks are about to arrive by the end of this year. These “ultraportables” are characterized of being lightweight, superthin and runs a powerful processor along with a cheaper price making it the ultimate contender against Macbooks.
At the heat of the IFA today, one of the first ultrabooks have been announced by Toshiba called Portege Z830. Just to give you its dimensions, its under 2.5 pounds with 15.9mm chassis and 13.3-inch body covered with a shiny metal — similar with other ultraportables leaked from Acer and Asus. It comes with a 1366 x 768 bright display with LED Backlit whereas pundits confirm it’s 40% thinner than its predecessor – the R380.
As we expect, its innards are all high-end running an Intel Sandy Bridge processor (up to Core i7), up to 6GB RAM, 1.3MP webcam with built-in microphone, USB 3.0 x 1 / USB 2.0 x 2; along with HDMI, VGA and SD card slot for added storage aside from its primary 128GB SSD.

Then again, its price doesn’t sound really cheap compared with the champion of all ultrathin notebooks – Macbook Air – setting you back for $1,000 hitting its release date on November.
