As early as January, we already gave you news that Toshiba is planning to reveal its first dual-core Android tablet packing with a size of 10.1-inch, predicted to be the company’s answer against the iPad.
As of today, a juicy leak from J&R’s internal inventory reveals the device’s name and its price.
Check out the screenshot.
So the name is Toshiba Thrive, and just like what we predicted, it will sport a Nvidia Tegra 2 CPU, 1GB RAM, 5MP shooter cam + 2MP rear camera; WiFi / Bluetooth support and everything will be displayed on its 10.1-inch capacitive touchscreen (1280 x 800 resolution).
For the price, its 8GB model will be available for 449 USD and 579 USD for its 32GB version; which are now both gone on the retailer shop after it got publicized from the blogosphere.
Likewise, pundits are already predicting that its availability on other consumer-electronic shops would be near, and preordering it might be announced even before the end of this month.
Then again, some enthusiasts are showing their “no-signal” for this tablet to come out as something promising, not only because Tegra 2 dual-core CPUs are becoming the norm for tablets, but also because of the marketing strategy of Tosh of not being able to produce the much needed hype for this device.
Oh well, let’s see how this one plays out!
