Toshiba Upgrades TG01 W/ TG02 | Specs Review

When Toshiba, another Japanese worldwide conglomerate corporation with headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, launched TG01 everybody was wowed and impressed especially with its written specifications entailing to be the first of a mobile phone to implement the Snapdragon 1GHz processor. But eventually consumers got disappointed.

After its initial appearance at the Mobile World Congress press event held in Barcelona, Spain together with another Toshiba creation K01, consumers are crossing their fingers in anticipation for TG01’s successor , the TG02. This fresh gadget is has an updated three dimensional interface is expected to be released by April of 2010 at a price still unidentified.

TG02 has dimensions of 70 x 129 x 9.9 in millimeters and weighs roughly 129 grams including the battery’s weight. Its embedded operating system is the Microsoft Windows Mobile 6.5.3 on a microprocessor chipset of Qualcomm Snapdragon QSD8250.

For Storage capacity, TG02 is said to have a RAM(random access memory) of 256 MB and a 512 MB ROM(read only).The color transreflective 65536 scaled touchscreen measures 4.1 inches with a display resolution of 480 by 800 pixels. Sound features include a mono microphone, stereo loudspeaker and a proprietary audio output.

The cellular networks with which the TG02 is compatible with are GSM850, GSM900, GSM1800, GSM1900, UMTS900 and UMTS2100. It also has cellular data links for CSD, GPRS, EDGE, UMTS, HSDPA, HSUPA.

User Interfaces include expansion slots for microSD, microSDHC, TransFlash, SDIO, USB 2.0 client, 480Mbit/s micro-USB and Bluetooth 2.1 plus EDR. It may also be used for a wireless LAN.

TG02 implements features for satellite navigation including a built-in GPS module with complementary assisted GPS, QuickGPS and Geotagging. The main camera is of 2.1 mega pixels, autofocus support, secondary camera is of .3 megapixels. Additional details comprise of having an en suite accelerometer. Its one thousand mAh battery pack is removable.
