Popular microblogging site Twitter will step a side, for a while, from its usual business routine for charitable purposes. Twitter, together with Crushpad and Room to read have jointly put up a site called Fledgling Wine. Two kinds of wine were made by crushpad namely Pinot and Chardonnay. The proceeds of each purchase will be given to Room to Read – a non-profit organization extending literacy and educational opportunities to children in the world’s poorest regions.
From Fledgling Wine’s website it says,
The Fledgling Initiative aims to make awesome wine for the benefit of Room to Read, a non-profit organization extending literacy and educational opportunities to children worldwide. Every case sold will provide approximately 60 local language children’s books and promote education in the world’s poorest regions.
If you’re curious how much each bottle of wine costs, a single bottle of Fledgling Pinot Noir costs $20 and a case (12 bottles) costs $240. A Fledgling Chardonnay bottle also costs $20 and $240 for a case. Separate donations to Room to Read are also possible, just visit their website. Remember, all of these are for a good cause.
