Ubuntu fans out there may have the sheer excitement when they learn that Android smartphones can already host the Ubuntu Desktop OS.

The good news is that Ubuntu is now possible to run on multi-core Android devices. What’s really commendable is that a user’s mobile handset can host a full desktop experience when it’s docked with a display and a corresponding keyboard. The integration will surely make the PC out of our lives earlier!
Ubuntu has developed a version that interacts very nicely with Android as both operating systems (OS) can run smoothly together while sharing data as well as services. With Ubuntu for Android, user is given a complete desktop on his/her handset with a full repertoire of desktop applications ranging from office, web browsing, email, media and messaging. Other features like contacts, calendars, photo galleries and music can be accessed in both phone and desktop interface.
At the moment, it still needs to be clarified what hardware user must have in order to run Ubuntu on his/her handset. According to Canonical, Ubuntu fits perfectly with handsets that are already in the pipeline or in development. One thing they reiterated is that handset must have the docking capability and must have support for HDMI and USB.
The nitty-gritty details are to be revealed in the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC).
