Anxiously waiting for the arrival of Moto’s thinnest smartphone? Well, Verizon announced today that customers who are interested can pre-order Droid RAZR starting at 8:00am on October 27 (US Time) and its price is still unshakeable at $299.99 after paying a two-year contract, not to mention a minimum data-plan under Red V. Expect its shipping date to start on November 10.

Naturally, this phone with a razor thin 7.1mm chassis, 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display, 1.2GHz dual-core CPU complete with 4G LTE support is Motorola’s ace against Samsung Galaxy Nexus (google’s third-gen phone) which is the first handset ever to receive Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich).
Interestingly, folks from Droid-Life create a tentative discussion explaining the total minimum cost you need to shell-out in order to get the phone. As kellex points out, Verizon appears to have increased its standards of pricing putting RAZR for a price of $649 if you don’t want to pay any carrier free. However, the minimum data-plan requirement is not even included on this calculation giving us an impression you should have at least 700 bucks to burn just to get this phone tomorrow if you don’t want to be tied on any carrier agreement with Verizon.
Having that in mind, this creates another discussion if Galaxy Nexus would follow the footsteps of RAZR considering both devices almost have the similar specifications. What do you think?
