Looks like Motorola Droid X will land the market earlier than expected. Motorola and Verizon made the changes to move the launching date of the new Droid from August to 23rd of June. Yes, a month earlier. It is also said the training is already set to start at the end of this month. The new release date of Droid X which is on June 23 seems in line with the expected release date of the new Apple iPhone 4. According to Droid Life, the wireless carrier is advising its retail stores to have the Droid X go on sale on the 19th of July.
Verizon had announced three basic features of the Droid X. The said phone will include a 4.3 inch display, HDMI output and 720p camera. The first two features is nothing spectacular since some phones already had it, but with the 720p camera, it is wonderful. The Verizon site had originally tagged the Droid X as having a “720p screen” but later it was changed as “captures 720p” for clarification and to avoid confusion among buyers.
Apple iphone 4 is already close to this with 960 x 640 display. The display screen is very responsive to taps and other multi touch gestures. However, the Droid X prototype that was first released had the same 854 x 480 resolution as the original Droid.
Droid X has the similar look as EVO 4G. Although it is noticeable that it is longer and wider and has the four physical buttons found at the bottom of the screen. The new Motorola smartphone feels light to carry and looks portable. Another feature is the new navigation bar at the button that allows easy access to other Android panels. It will also be preloaded with a Blockbuster application and a DLNA type application.
Motorola Droid X will be run by Android 2.1 Éclair and a new UI tagged as Shadow BLUR.
The said launching of the new phone is much awaited especially by Droid fans. Executives from the company of Verizon, Google, Motorola and Adobe had already spoken of the event which is entitled as “Unleashing the Next Generation of Droid”.
