It’s obvious that iPad 2 is not only beautiful because of its revamped specifications compared to iPad 1 but also, the way how the company managed to stick with its usual price ranging from the cheapest model for 499 USD 16GB WiFi-only model to its most expensive 64GB WiFi + 3G version.
For this event, Apple also managed to first announced iPad going directly for Verizon on March 11 (first day of shipping) tagging along with AT&T. As you can see, last year was slightly different as the Verizon iPad 1 was only delivered on the second half of 2010 already.

If you’ll check Apple’s page, the price offering of both carriers is 100% similar and this is good for now. As we all know, those two companies will always try to outwin with each other by providing gimmicks. Remember the MiFi and AT&T’s hotspot bonus if you’ll get an iPad from their stores? Also, we still haven’t heard about how will these two giants do their data-plan. The best prediction we can give you is they will almost be the same, or there’ll be some subtle tweaks but the bottom-factor should come out as very similar.
Again, Apple plays an important role here of keeping these two companies from cut-throating each other. To give you a proof, why is it that Apple didn’t reveal any 4G plans for the iPad 2, while we all know Verizon has a CDMA LTE version for that and AT&T claims they have one too? Any chance Apple didn’t want to try and complicate things up and just stick with their old tested pricing plans? – You bet Apple has thought of that!
So here we are enjoying the price advantage of iPad 2 in which it leads other doors for its iPad 1 / refurbished iPad 1 to be still bought by millions of people worldwide.
