Verizon Samsung Fascinate just became brilliant. Although it has not been made official yet, Fascinate would receive Android 2.2 OS. Samsung fanatics have been mulling about EB01 on Fascinate and they’re flooding the Android Central forum.
Apparently, owners of Samsung Fascinate at Androidcentral hub couldn’t wait any longer for the official Froyo upgrade to come. The first alleged Froyo build was released and dubbed as DL30. A week later, an anonymous source leaked another Froyo build now dubbed as EB01. If you’re itching to upgrade your Verizon Fascinate using this hacked Froyo build, head over and install it in your handset. The caveat is that there’s no guarantee that it will work seamlessly on your handset.
The applications are very much the same as the previous line of Samsung, except that a Media Hub has been installed. This app allows you to download movies and TV programs straight to your Fascinate. Sounds really fascinating, huh? Aside from the apps provided by the phone manufacturer, the carrier can add up to the set of apps. However, this can be pretty frustrating because these additional apps are not to be used for free. Amazon, Bing, Blockbuster, CityID and a few more are pre-installed in Verizon Samsung Fascinate EBO1.
Phone Setting–wise, the sound and display settings are now separated into two icons. Additional point is that users can now customize system volumes separately. Fascinate offers 3 system font styles: Chooky Cooky, Cool Jazz, and Rosemary. Phone users can customize font style according to desire. Additional fonts are also available for download which is pretty cool. Another Froyo feature for Samsung Fascinate include installation of apps on the SD card, Gtalk and Gmail apps and full Adobe flash. Bing is used as the default browser, by the way.

As mentioned, there is no definite proof yet whether this is the latest Froyo for Samsung Fascinate. For the meantime, you can try and experience it for yourself!
