VMware Fusion 4 is the latest virtualization software for Apple’s Mac OS X Lion, the company’s latest operating system. It is touted to have 90 features mostly pertaining to graphics, performance and virtualization.

The new software can also create a “Mac-like experience” for Windows apps and fitted with the following features: a snapshot menu, virtual machine library and a new settings menu. Macs can run Windows apps using Fusion 4 with the same features of other Mac apps. It is designed to run apps with reliability and incredible speed from both Operating Systems side-by-side. The new virtualization software has been readied for the eventual release of Apple’s latest OS.
The support for new Apple OS includes that of its Spotlight, Expose and Spaces. Windows programs can be added to the Launchpad and manipulated via the Mission Control. It is built on 64-bit Cocoa application that can deliver up to 2.5 times faster any 3D graphics. It allows virtual machine support for OS X Lion, Mac OS X Leopard Server, Mac OS X Snow Leopard Server and OS X Lion Server.
The VMware Fusion 4 is available for $79.99 with year-end promo of $49.99. Apple is reported to be planning to diversify from producing optical drives giving VMware the chance to take its place.
