My Book Studio of Western Digital has complemented its series with a refreshed version jam-packed with unique peculiarities than its predecessors.

The drive is enclosed in a brushed aluminum casing displaying a gaudy exterior that identifies a Mac, and showcases WD’s popular Caviar Green internal HDD with GreenPower Technology for a fan less and noiseless environment. It has a max capacity of 3TB and equipped with FireWire 400/800, USB 2.0 interfaces and Automated Backup Features. While generally intended for Mac and Apple Time Machine, it can be formatted to work with Windows XP, Windows Vista or Windows 7.
The aluminum enclosure ensures cooling and the drives have vent holes on top spelling out a Morse Code message indicating any of the following: personal, design, simple, innovative and reliable. Data protection is guaranteed with its –bit hardware-based encryption functionality after installing WD SmartWare.
It has a book-like appearance. The Studio edition is one of the nine series of WD My Book drives the others being Essential Edition, Home Edition, Mirror Edition, Premium Edition, Elite Edition, Office, Edition, Pro Edition and World Edition.
The latest WD My Book Studio is currently available with the following price tags, $149.99 for 1TB, $199.99 for 2TB and $249.99 for 3TB, and can be purchased online or at selected stores.
