Windows 8 is still more than a quarter away but we’re already seeing some of its remarkable, and other peculiar features making us think is this really Windows?
Aside from its resemblance to a Windows Phone interface, tweaks on Windows Explorer, etc; Microsoft recently announced on its blog the revolutionary way on how the new desktop OS can bootup from a crazy eight-second speed!
There’s a lot of technical details involve on this process but it appears the team have really concentrated on the recent issues about previous Windows platforms – that is – its very slow bootup from a cold restart. Actually, if you’re using Windows right now, you already know that a minute bootup speed is already fast considering some computers take more than that before they can see the start button on the screen.

To summarize the process, our developers manage to tweak the user & kernel session – two basic key elements when you shutdown your PC – in such a way that it won’t be closed anymore, instead, it will be preserved and the system will create a “hiberfile read” to make the system bootup really fast.
For those who are unaware, it’s rumored several times Microsoft’s ambitious plan is to make Windows 8 both desktop-friendly and highly efficient for tablets – something that’s impossible to accomplish with the previous platform.
Like everyone, we’re still waiting for the official launch of Windows 8 which is expected to hit on Q1 of 2012.
