It has been only more than one year now since Microsoft has released the current version of their OS known as the Windows 7. But as early as now there are already some rumors surfacing the web that Microsoft is currently on the works and preparing for the next generation of this OS, which will be known as the Windows 8 operating system. Basically, the Windows 8 will be coming with additional functions beyond its usual file transfer progress as well as some progress indicators for hardware installation as well.

This upcoming OS has been rumored to be coming for quite some time now and just recently some leaked information as well as screenshots has surfaced the internet lately. One of this information that leaked is that the Windows 8 will be a speedy install. In fact, it will only take around eight minutes to finish, which makes it 2.5 times faster than the Windows 7. Apparently, Microsoft is also using a relatively fast PC that comes with an eight-core CPU in order to get those numbers.
In addition to this, Microsoft has also expanded its System Restore capability, which is now referred to as “Factory Restore.” This is a hard-reset function that has the ability to roll back Windows 8 to its original state within just two minutes. The leaked screenshots regarding this upcoming system did not really reveal new features, but showed some minor user interface. Apparently, the Windows 8’s leaked screenshot will be also displaying avatar for either a local account, which only means that user’s will be allowed to use their Windows Live ID to log-on its windows and a further integration of Windows 8 with the cloud is a big possibility.

All in all a total of three screenshots have been posted about this upcoming system. Two of which showed a taskbar and system tray area. Additional features of this upcoming system are expected to be revealed later. As of present, Microsoft has no official confirmation yet whether they have started with working with the third milestone of this upcoming OS. Milestone 3 is basically the last step before Microsoft will be able to build the beta version to this product.
If everything will go as planned, the Windows 8 OS Milestone 3 is expected to be completed by March 2011 and around June or July 2011 for its beta version and the final version of the Window 8 is expected to have a possible release in early 2012. So watch out for it.
