Sure, we are interested when Microsoft revealed to the public that it will have its first major update for the Windows Phone 7 series and just like you, we are thrilled with this update just because copy and paste is something that’s a right for every smartphone users. The expected release for that one would be on January and in the back of my head, I am kinda hoping MS would still reveal more goodies for WP7 next year considering tech-pundits are starting to wonder if this device was a miss or hit since the company has not yet revealed its sales worldwide.

Today, a new source confirms that Microsoft will be rolling out more updates and there’s a big chance that its release will be the same with the impending Mobile World Congrees on February plus, another one which may be happening on August or September. So far, engadget confirms this update will be called as Mango – more like Project Mango huh? Interestingly, it was revealed that this new project may even coincide with the Windows Phone 7.5 release whereas its new platform could be this one as well.
As for its features, this Mango update is expected to bring Silverlight and HTML5 support on WP7 devices plus more language packs for eastern (asian) countries. Obviously, everything is still vague for now but you can be sure it will be a major update before Windows Phone 8 arrives which is rumored to have the codename “Apollo” with a release date on 2012.
Pretty cool stuff huh?
