Windows Phone 7 is getting a pump this fall with a major update codenamed, Mango. Come May 24, chosen individuals are invited to participate in the Windows Phone exposition. Tech bloggers are expecting that more details about theĀ Mango OS update will be revealed on that day.

The new platform boasts a turn-around on smart-phone experience by adding decisive features such as speech-to-text messages and turn-by turn directions that would improve the usage of GPS in every way. Multi-tasking is at your fingertips and users need not to worry of getting lost in a pool of applications because Mango has the ability to use typographic keys to scan the documents that they need.
Another interesting new feature is the Bing Vision, a barcode reader application that is in a different league from the Microsoft Tag reader. While Microsoft Tag Reader can only recognize tags custom made by Microsoft, the Bing Vision will work with barcodes from products that puts it on par with Android and iOS.

While Microsoft did wonders to improve its users computing needs, the multimedia ability of their Windows Phone 7 will not be left behind with a new song identification service called, Bing Audio. It would recognize the tune and direct you to Zune music where you could decide to purchase the song or the album, much like how Shazam works.
While everything sounds great, Microsoft has not yet specified if the new features will be available to all Windows Phone 7 owners including those outside the US. More so, the platform is still on the rocks in climbing to what its competitors can do. Stay tuned!
