The highly anticipated Xbox 360 dashboard update, which to some is probably the best Christmas gift they can get, suddenly went on a downward spiral when some users started complaining that they cannot get their consoles online. The dreaded “Error Code 801540B7” dictates users to re download their Xbox Live profiles and at the same time, directs them to customer service support for assistance. In as such, Xbox users are hindered to play online and multi-player options and also preventing them from buying contents through the service.

Microsoft’s dashboard update for the Xbox 360 includes new voice and gesture controls, Bing search, social network and television options – a seemingly noteworthy upgrade that were temporarily halted with the said error. This in turn prohibits users from accessing these programs by denying their access to Xbox Live.
An Xbox spokesperson told Jostiq that they are working to resolve the issue and apologizes for the inconvenience the glitch has caused to a number of Xbox users.
Xbox’s latest anomaly came in after its update – a faulty video player had problems with its color levels up to the point where images are washed out. After that, the update was also delayed from the proposed 10am EST of December 3 to 6:30pm of that day but then other users weren’t able to sign to their Live accounts even after the update.
