“Fee fi fo fum, we smell Android-blood on a new phone, If it got what it takes to kill iPhone..it will be a sure-hit for humans –foom!”
If you felt cyborg ads and terminator-like promotion isn’t your style, Sony Ericsson might have something to offer you cannot resist. After a long-haul, S.E finally released a new smartphone that will harness the power of Android OS to bring that much needed edge on your techie-lifestyle. Sony Ericsson Xperia™ X10 is the 4th model out of the three earlier Xperia-phones which turn out to be “not quite what people had expected“. Today, the said company finally unveils the complete specifications of their newest Android Phone. The next obvious question will be, does it have what it takes to be at par with the iPhone kind?
Powered by a 1GHz Snapdragon processor and running on Android 1.6 “Cupcake”, the X10 boasts a 4″ WVGA capacitive touchscreen display, an 8.1 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi, GPS and two flavors of UMTS/HSPA — one of which supports T-Mobile, the other, AT&T — in addition to quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE. Regrettably there is only 1GB of built in memory, although an 8GB microSD card ships in the box. In terms of UI customization, the X10 comes with the UI overlay UX called Rachael (user experience) which extends into two premier apps: Mediascape — the media player which we’ve already seen twice — and Timescape, which more or less is SE’s answer to a MOTOBLUR type skin.
Sony Ericsson stressed to us the symbiotic importance of both the new flagship device and “open OS” UI — the X10 was presented as the patriarch of a whole new family of handsets, which we can expect to see in the first half of 2010, all sporting the beauty of Rachael and perhaps helping to bridge the gap between featurephones and, well, more advanced featurephones.
Pricing and countries of availability has not yet been disclosed by the company, expect that the release will not be that welcoming to users, unlike the released of the Droid Phones.

Wrap-up:
Xperia X10, is truly an ambitious phone that has a tendency to lack some luster in terms of specs (why, start with an old version of Android?), Design (With a 4incher screen like that, we are expecting HD-capability), Carriers? (Will it be released on yet another private mobile-network?) The X-factor? (Any other “hidden” specifications, that can make buyers go WOW?). From the looks of it, Xperia x10 is a semi-extra ordinary phone that’s lucrative for “saucy” individuals who love big-screen and a royal-blue skin colored background, did I say BIG hands too? If you already have an iPhone 3G, or bought a Motorola Droid already, may we suggest that you sleep over before buying this one – Unless, you are Richie Rich :D
The Xperia models have an old history of turning the hopes of people down, with this release – hopefully, it will bring a happy ending for aspiring buyers alike.
