Yahoo Pulse Review: What the heck it is?

Posted on 08 June 2010 by pinoytutorial

Do you think that your Yahoo! home page is quite boring? With a lot of things going-on, Yahoo! the leader in web-based mail never fails to amaze us. It continues to develop its products for the best interests of its patrons. Or is it to their best of  interests? Now, with the integration of the Facebook right at your Yahoo page. What more can you ask for?

Yahoo Yahoo Pulse Review: What the heck it is?

As it was called, Yahoo Pulse is the new web-page browser of Yahoo. As if their page wasn’t already filled with those things from weather, mail, the web-based company will add social networking site Facebook on their pop-out page. It will surely allow millions of Facebook fanatics to make hits to the Yahoo Pulse more often. Keep it mind that it’s not only Facebook that is going to join the Yahoo Pulse team.

Facebook only is a starter so that other web pages may follow. They’re targeting twitter and the 15 other websites people have been familiar with. The beauty of it is that you’ll find everything you need in one web-page. But the real story, obviously, behind it is that Yahoo! page will be visited more often than ever. They will be your primary browser which is an advantage to them.

So how does this works? The Pulse site will be “threadsy” having real-time updates from Facebook and other social networks. One can view, for example, Facebook and Twitter feeds using Yahoo’s “Quick View” feature. More like Google Buzz that works the same as a real-time and social search application integrated into your mail. But for Yahoo, it promises to integrate more applications and provide an improved, tabbed interface as well as allow new kinds of integration in Yahoo and Yahoo Mail. In other words, it’s going to make the page more application-filled, user friendly and more creative. Once you’ve logged in to Yahoo Pulse, you can easily log-in to other social sites using the same interface.

How about privacy issues considering that Facebook is dealing with a lot of it lately? Yahoo Pulse is aware of that fact, so it promises to integrate privacy settings within your interface menu. But don’t expect it to change the privacy settings of your Facebook account!

I think the main idea here is multi-tasking which involves doing a lot of things at the same time. In this case multi-tasking would mean visiting a lot of websites within just a few clicks. Also, if you’re in a hurry and don’t have all the time to open each of your application account, then this is for you. Just open Yahoo Pulse and you’re brought to your accounts. What you do in one account would reflect in your other accounts reaching your friends among all the sites in your interface. Check related news clip below.

Yahoo Pulse is straight trash. It is not user friendly and the updates dont work. I tried changing my location, nope cant do that. I thought it autosave since there was no save button, but looks like my location is stuck somewhere I do not live. I tried deleting the location instead, nope dont work.

I heard that you cannot view your old posts to the yahoo front page articles anymore. WTF is the point of a news blog then if you cant retrace what others may have commented on your opinion?

Sensible comments/suggestions are always appreciated.
