Here’s a new tool for the gods, the rock gods. Surely you must remember the first appearance of the You Rock Guitar at the Consumer Electronics Show, right? For today, we’ll be letting you in on the details shrouding this new controller.

The You Rock Guitar is technically platform agnostic, it is a lightweight and multi-touch controller for both Guitar Hero and Rock Band. It still dons the same buttons with the controller-type settings, but it can be used as a semi-guitar when plugged into an amp. This is as far as reality goes when rocking out virtually.
As for Rock Band, the You Rock Guitar is by far the third accessory preceding the Mad Catz Mustang and Fender Squier Stratocaster. The You Rock Guitar has real guitar strings, though they don’t stretch as much as authentic one. It also has a touch-sensitive fret board and can function as a MIDI instrument.
Here are some of the features:
- 99 built-in presets combining sounds, tunings, etc.
- 25 digitally-sampled guitars – Choose 6 and 12-string acoustics, electrics for jazz, grunge, shredding leads and more
- 50 synthesizer sounds: pianos, organs, strings, brass
- 75 built-in song and drum loops for instant play-along
- 65 custom tunings and 9 custom user programmable tunings

A few things you need to know before strapping on this guitar for Rock Bands are: You must download the firmware 1.2 from the You Rock website and the guitar requires the Mad Catz MIDI adapter.
So if you’re interested in learning how to play the guitar in a virtual way in the form of a rock star, get one of these in available stores for 180 bucks.
