If you are looking for a pure wireless audio device, then why don’t you check out this newest gadget from Creative Technology Inc., it’s the all new Zen Touch 2. Many companies have been trying to come out with handheld portable media players that can play movies and music just like Apple’s iPod Touch do and it seems that Creative has finally found the right media player through the Zen Touch 2 to fill in the same niche. The Zen Touch 2 is a portable media player that is capable of streaming music wirelessly through a compatible Bluetooth speakers and headphones. Aside from this, the Zen Touch 2 is also capable of internet surfing as well.
The Creative Zen Touch 2 will come into two versions. The first one being the top of the line model that has a GPS, FM radio and a digital compass as well and second one is the cheaper model which basically lacks these features. This new portable media device supports a wide array of audio and video formats and promises around 25 hours of run time when listening to the music and around 5 hours when watching videos.
In addition to the abovementioned features, the Zen Touch 2 also comes with the following specs in either model:
- Runs with the Google Android 2.1 OS with a possible upgrade to Android 2.2 on the way
- Sports a 3.2-inch touchscreen display with a resolution of 480×320 pixels
- Comes with various connectivity options such as 802.11 b/g/n Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 2.1
- Comes with a composite video output
- Equipped with a 2MP rear camera
- Comes with an accelerometer, built-in mono speaker, mic and a microSD card slot
It seems that the Zen Touch 2’s specs are quite interesting and pretty impressive as well. And simply knowing that Creative’s Zen line-up has long been associated with the highest quality when it comes to audio playback, surely the Zen Touch 2 is something that will live up to their standards.
This new wireless audio device will be available starting December. The GPS model with 8GB storage will be offered at $ 258 and the 16 GB model without the GPS, FM radio and digital compass will be offered for the same price. Also available is the 8 GB model without the additional features which comes with a price tag of $ 241.
